Royal Enfield is expected to launch the Bullet 650 in India within the next one to two months, bringing the iconic motorcycle nameplate into the brand’s twin-cylinder family. The motorcycle was first showcased in India at Motoverse last year after making its global debut at EICMA, and anticipation around its arrival has continued to grow ever since.

The Bullet 650 will become the most powerful iteration of the legendary Bullet, a motorcycle that has remained in continuous production since 1932 and continues to hold a special place in the Indian motorcycling landscape. With the introduction of the 650cc parallel-twin platform, Royal Enfield aims to combine the timeless appeal of the Bullet with improved refinement, performance and touring capability.

Classic Bullet styling remains intact

In terms of design, the Bullet 650 stays faithful to the traditional Bullet formula. It retains the signature upright stance, teardrop-shaped fuel tank with the winged badge and the distinctive casquette housing the headlamp. Royal Enfield has also preserved the vintage-inspired “tiger-eye” pilot lamps, a styling cue that traces its roots back to the 1950s.

The motorcycle continues with an all-metal construction, hand-painted pinstripes and classic proportions that maintain the unmistakable identity of the Bullet. Despite the larger engine and modern underpinnings, the overall silhouette remains instantly recognisable.

Familiar 650cc twin-cylinder engine

Powering the Bullet 650 is Royal Enfield’s 647.95cc parallel-twin engine that also powers several other models in the company’s 650cc lineup. The engine produces 47bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The shift from the traditional single-cylinder setup to the twin-cylinder motor is expected to deliver a smoother and more refined riding experience, especially during long-distance touring and highway cruising. At the same time, Royal Enfield is expected to retain the relaxed and laid-back riding character associated with the Bullet name.

The Bullet 650 is built around a steel tubular spine frame and features 43mm telescopic front forks along with twin rear shock absorbers. The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel setup, preserving the commanding road presence the Bullet is known for.

Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc and a 300mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS.

The motorcycle also focuses heavily on rider comfort, featuring a wide bench seat and raised handlebars for an upright riding posture. The seat height stands at 800mm, while the motorcycle weighs 243kg. A 14.8-litre fuel tank is expected to offer a strong touring range.

Modern features added

Despite its retro appearance, the Bullet 650 comes equipped with modern features including an LED headlamp, LED tail-lamp and a semi-digital instrument cluster with trip information, gear position indicator and service reminders. A USB Type-C charging port has also been added for added practicality.

With its blend of heritage-inspired styling and proven twin-cylinder performance, the Bullet 650 is expected to strengthen Royal Enfield’s presence in the premium retro motorcycle segment. Once launched, it is likely to attract both long-time Bullet enthusiasts and riders looking for a more refined classic motorcycle experience.
