Commenting on the overall EV performance, FADA President C S Vigneshwar said June 2026 marked a defining month for India's transition to electric mobility, with 3,06,220 electric vehicles retailed across all segments, the highest ever recorded by FADA and nearly 63 per cent higher than a year ago.

He noted that the growth was broad-based rather than being driven by a single category, with electric passenger vehicles and electric commercial vehicles both posting record monthly sales, while electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers also maintained strong momentum.

Vigneshwar added that the milestone reflects the increasing maturity of India's EV ecosystem, where legacy automakers, emerging domestic brands and global manufacturers are all expanding their presence. He said improving affordability, a stronger charging infrastructure and growing consumer confidence are helping electric mobility move firmly into the mainstream of the Indian automotive market.
