Honda ZR-V e:HEV launched in India at Rs 47.99 lakh, deliveries begin

Honda's new flagship SUV arrives as a CBU from Japan, packing a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid powertrain with 22.8kmpl fuel efficiency.

Honda Cars India has launched the ZR-V e:HEV in the country at an introductory price of Rs 47.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from Japan, the premium SUV now sits at the top of Honda's India portfolio, with deliveries commencing across the country.

The launch marks Honda's latest push into India's premium SUV segment with a strong-hybrid offering. The carmaker said the ZR-V has enjoyed considerable global success, recording cumulative sales of over 8 lakh units since its debut in 2022. According to Honda, the first two batches allocated for the Indian market have already been fully booked.

Honda Z-RV: Powertrain

Powering the ZR-V is Honda's 2.0-litre e:HEV Sports Hybrid system, which combines an Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with a dual-motor hybrid setup and an e-CVT transmission. The powertrain develops a combined 184bhp and 315Nm of torque, while delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.8kmpl. Honda also claims the SUV can sprint from 0-100kmph in 7.9 seconds.

The hybrid system automatically switches between EV, Hybrid and Engine Drive modes depending on driving conditions to optimise both performance and efficiency.

Honda Z-RV: Design and features

In terms of design, the ZR-V features a bold SUV stance with full-LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels and a premium all-black cabin finished with leather upholstery. The interior also gets dual-zone climate control, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function and a four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat.

The all-new Honda ZR-V e:HEV is available in four colour options: Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl.

The feature list includes a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, wireless phone charging, a hands-free powered tailgate with kick sensor, electronic parking brake, regenerative braking paddle shifters and idle stop-start technology.

Practicality has also been a key focus, with the ZR-V offering a flexible luggage area capable of accommodating up to 1,313 litres of cargo with the rear seats folded. The SUV also gets multiple storage spaces, 60:40 split-folding rear seats and a flat cargo floor.

Honda Z-RV: Safety

On the safety front, the ZR-V comes equipped with the Honda SENSING suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which includes Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation System. Other safety features include eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Descent Control, front and rear parking sensors, and Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure.

Honda is offering the SUV with a three-year unlimited-kilometre standard warranty, three years of complimentary roadside assistance, extended warranty options of up to seven years and Anytime Warranty coverage of up to 10 years or 1.2 lakh kilometres. The lithium-ion battery is covered by an eight-year/1.6 lakh km warranty, while hybrid system components are backed by a five-year/1 lakh km warranty.
