Mini Countryman C goes local, launched in India at Rs 47.5 lakh
Mini has expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the locally assembled Countryman C at Rs 47.50 lakh, bringing lower pricing, premium features and a turbo-petrol powertrain to buyers.

Mini India has launched the locally assembled Countryman C at Rs 47.50 lakh (ex-showroom), making the premium SUV considerably more accessible than the fully imported Countryman JCW All4. The new Countryman C is manufactured at BMW Group's Chennai plant and joins the third-generation Countryman line-up as a petrol-powered front-wheel-drive offering.
Exterior design
The new Countryman adopts Mini's latest 'Charismatic Simplicity' design philosophy, featuring cleaner surfaces, wider wheel arches and a more upright stance. Signature styling elements include an octagonal front grille, adaptive LED headlights, redesigned matrix LED tail-lamps and three selectable daytime running light signatures.
Champagne-finished detailing on the grille surround, skid plates and exterior badging adds a premium touch, while 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels enhance its road presence.
The SUV measures 4,447mm in length, 1,843mm in width and 1,661mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,692mm and ground clearance of 190mm. Buyers can choose from five exterior shades: British Racing Green, Smokey Green, Nanuq White, Slate Blue and Chilli Red along with a contrasting roof finish.
Interior design and features
Inside, the Countryman C features a minimalist dashboard centred around a 240mm circular OLED touchscreen running Mini Operating System 9. The dashboard and door panels use recycled textile materials, reflecting the brand's focus on sustainable design.
The SUV comes equipped with electrically adjustable JCW Sports seats finished in Vescin upholstery, while the driver's seat also offers a massage function.
Key features include:
- Head-up display
- Harman Kardon 12-speaker audio system
- Panoramic glass roof
- Wireless phone charging
- 360-degree camera
- Parking Assistant Plus
- Mini Digital Key Plus
- Connected car technology
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Eight Mini Experience Modes
Rear-seat occupants benefit from seats that slide by up to 130mm and recline by up to 25 degrees. Boot capacity stands at 505 litres and can be expanded to 1,450 litres with the rear seats folded.
Powertrain option
Powering the Countryman C is a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 156bhp and 240Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
Mini claims a 0-100kph sprint time of 9.0 seconds and a top speed of 212kmph. The SUV delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.92kmpl and comes with a 60-litre fuel tank.
Safety
The Countryman C carries a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and comes equipped with multiple airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, ABS, Cornering Brake Control, brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring and a rear-view camera.
