The update marks the adoption of Renault's new logo on the Kwid, while retaining its design philosophy. The streamlined variant line-up is aimed at making the buying process simpler for first-time customers and those upgrading from two-wheelers.

Commenting on the launch, Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Renault India, said, "For millions of Indians, owning their first car remains an important milestone. With an increasingly aspirational middle class and a large base of two-wheeler owners looking to upgrade, first-time ownership continues to be a strong and enduring aspiration."

He added, "Over 4.5 lakh customers in India have started their journey with Kwid, and that trust is something we deeply value. With the New Kwid, we are building on this legacy by making the offering simpler, clearer, and more relevant."

Mechanically, the updated Kwid remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the familiar 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 68bhp. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed Easy-R automated manual transmission (AMT).

With prices starting at Rs 4.52 lakh and an effective price of Rs 4.99 lakh for the top-spec Climber manual through Renault's online purchase programme, the updated Kwid aims to strengthen its appeal among budget-conscious first-time buyers. It continues to rival entry-level hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso.
