This mini electric SUV is set to hit Indian roads this year
Set to arrive in India later this year, the VinFast VF 3 aims to bring affordable urban electric mobility with compact dimensions, SUV-inspired styling and a claimed driving range of up to 210km.

VinFast is preparing to expand its India portfolio with the launch of the VF 3, its smallest electric vehicle yet. After making its India debut with the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs, the Vietnamese automaker is now looking to enter the urban micro-EV segment, where the MG Comet EV has already demonstrated the appeal of compact electric city cars.
Exterior Design
The VinFast VF 3 is an ultra-compact electric mini-SUV measuring 3,114mm in length, 1,679mm in width and 1,652mm in height. It rides on a 2,075mm wheelbase and offers a ground clearance of 191mm, giving it a compact footprint while maintaining a relatively high stance for urban driving.
The VinFast VF 3 sports a distinctive boxy design inspired by classic off-roaders, giving the compact electric SUV a rugged and youthful character. Its upright front fascia features rectangular LED headlamps connected by a gloss-black panel with the brand's signature V-shaped chrome accent and centrally placed VinFast logo. Thick black cladding around the bumpers, wheel arches and side sills further enhances its SUV appeal while adding a layer of practicality.
Despite its compact dimensions, the VF 3's flat roofline, upright pillars and short overhangs lend it a purposeful stance. The squared wheel arches, high ground clearance and simple, clean body surfaces contribute to its robust appearance, while the minimalist design language keeps the styling modern. Overall, the VF 3 combines retro-inspired proportions with contemporary EV styling, making it stand out as a quirky urban electric SUV.
In profile, the VinFast VF 3 stands out with its upright, boxy silhouette that gives it the look of a miniature off-roader. The flat roof, nearly vertical pillars and short overhangs maximise cabin space while lending the compact EV a rugged stance. Prominent black cladding around the wheel arches and side sills, along with chunky bumpers, reinforces its SUV-inspired styling.
The side profile is clean and uncluttered, featuring a single large door, squared wheel arches and flush body surfaces with minimal character lines. Blacked-out A-, B- and C-pillars create a wraparound glasshouse effect, while the distinctive rear quarter window adds a touch of visual flair. 16-inch steel wheels, upright ORVMs and high ground clearance further emphasise the VF 3's utilitarian yet youthful design.
At the rear, the VinFast VF 3 continues its minimalist yet rugged design theme with a clean, upright tailgate and squared-off proportions. The slim rectangular LED tail-lamps are connected by a gloss-black trim panel that integrates the signature V-shaped chrome accent and centrally positioned VinFast logo, mirroring the front-end design. A chunky black rear bumper and pronounced body cladding reinforce its SUV-inspired stance. The ultra compact SUV also features a subtle roof spoiler and large rear glass, lending the VF 3 a modern yet functional appearance.
Interior Design
The VinFast VF 3 features a simple, minimalist cabin design. Inside, four people can sit and the VF 3 offers manually adjustable four-way front seats and fabric upholstery. The rear bench can be folded flat to free up additional luggage space, enhancing the mini-SUV's practicality.
Dominating the dashboard is a centrally mounted 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which serves as the primary interface for vehicle functions. In keeping with its minimalist approach, the VF 3 does away with a traditional driver's instrument cluster as well as a head-up display, requiring the driver to rely on the central screen for key vehicle information.
The cabin is equipped with a D-cut multifunction steering wheel, while physical buttons for functions such as volume control and the hazard lights are positioned below the touchscreen for ease of use. Other features include manual air conditioning, keyless entry, a USB charging port, a two-speaker audio system and fixed headrests for all seats. Overall, the interior prioritises functionality and affordability, offering essential features in a clean and uncluttered layout.
Battery and Range
Powering the VinFast VF 3 is a rear-mounted electric motor producing 43bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. The motor draws power from an 18.6kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which delivers a claimed driving range of up to 210km on a single charge.
