What is the claimed fuel-efficiency of the Renault Duster 1-litre manual?
Renault India has revealed the ARAI-certified fuel-efficiency of the new Duster 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual at 19.41kmpl, making it the most economical version of the SUV ahead of its India launch.

Renault India has announced the ARAI-certified fuel-efficiency figure for the 1-litre turbo-petrol Renault Duster paired with the 6-speed manual transmission.
The claimed fuel-efficiency of the Duster 1-litre is 19.41kmpl. The certification makes the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual variant the most fuel-efficient version of the Duster range.
The Duster 1-litre turbo is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that develops 100bhp and 160Nm of torque. The engine is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission and has been specifically calibrated for Renault's new Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), which underpins the latest-generation SUV.
The newly announced figure also surpasses the fuel-efficiency numbers of the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol variants. Renault had earlier revealed that the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol Duster delivers an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.45kmpl with the dual-clutch automatic transmission and 17.75kmpl with the 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine produces 163bhp and 280Nm, making it the most powerful Duster offered in India.
Further expanding the range, Renault is also preparing to introduce the Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech around the Diwali festive season. The hybrid system combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, a hybrid starter generator and a 1.4kWh battery pack, with Renault claiming the SUV can operate in electric mode for up to 80 per cent of city driving.
All variants of the new-generation Duster are based on the RGMP architecture, which has been developed for Indian road conditions. With a claimed fuel-efficiency of 19.41kmpl, the 1.0-litre turbo manual is one of the most economical compact SUVs in its class.
