Tesla inaugurates North India's first in-mall charging station in Delhi

Tesla has inaugurated North India's first in-mall destination charging station at Nexus Select Citywalk in New Delhi, while also showcasing the new Model Y L and 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive.

Tesla has expanded its presence in India by inaugurating North India's first in-mall destination charging station at Nexus Select Citywalk in New Delhi. The new charging facility, located in the P1 parking area of the mall, features six AC destination chargers rated at 11kW each, allowing Tesla owners to conveniently charge their vehicles while shopping or dining.

According to the company, the charging station is designed to deliver a seamless "Plug In, Charge and Go" experience and offers an uptime of 99.95 per cent.

Alongside the charging station, Tesla has also opened a temporary pop-up store on the ground floor of Nexus Select Citywalk. The experience centre will remain open from July 6 to July 10 between 11:00am and 9:00pm. Visitors can explore the newly launched Model Y L and the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive through guided product walkthroughs, interactive experiences and test drives.

Tesla Model Y L

The newly introduced Model Y L is positioned as a family-focused electric SUV with a three-row, six-seat configuration. The all-wheel-drive model offers increased cabin space with enhanced headroom and legroom, while cargo capacity extends up to 2,539 litres with the seats folded.

Tesla claims the Model Y L delivers a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 681km and can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 5.0 seconds. The SUV is priced from Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with financing options offering EMIs starting at Rs 49,990, subject to a down payment of Rs 6.5 lakh.

Tesla Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive

Tesla also showcased the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, the latest version of what the company describes as the world's best-selling electric vehicle as of March 2026. The five-seater electric SUV offers up to 2,138 litres of cargo space and accelerates from 0-100kmph in 5.9 seconds.

The rear-wheel-drive variant delivers a WLTP-certified range of up to 500km and is priced at Rs 50.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can opt for finance plans with EMIs starting at Rs 39,990, with a minimum down payment of Rs 6 lakh.

Tesla said both the Model Y L and the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive have earned top safety ratings from several global crash-testing agencies, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Euro NCAP, ANCAP, and C-IASI.

Both models are now available to order through Tesla's official website. The company also confirmed that home charging support is available across all states in India, enabling customers to install charging solutions at their residences.

Tesla currently operates experience centres in multiple cities across the country, including:
