BSNL's core services revenue rises 10% in Q1FY27 as govt pushes for its turnaround
BSNL's core services revenue rose to Rs 4,418 crore in Q1FY27 from 4,017 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, driven largely by growth in its Enterprise Business and Consumer Mobility segments.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) recorded a 10 per cent year-on-year rise in revenue from core services in the April-June quarter of FY27, marking a positive start to the financial year as the state-run telecom operator continues its turnaround efforts.
BSNL's core services revenue rose to Rs 4,418 crore in Q1FY27 from Rs 4,017 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, driven largely by growth in its Enterprise Business and Consumer Mobility segments.
The performance was reviewed by Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday during a strategic review and planning meeting with BSNL officials.
Scindia assessed the business and operational performance of all 28 BSNL circles and discussed the roadmap for the company's next phase of growth. He called for sustained execution and operational discipline to maintain the momentum.
ENTERPRISE BUSINESS DRIVES GROWTH
BSNL's Enterprise Business, which provides telecom and IT solutions to businesses and government agencies, emerged as the company's best-performing segment. Revenue from the segment rose 19.2 per cent to Rs 1,745 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 1,463 crore in the same period last year.
The Consumer Mobility segment, which offers mobile services including prepaid, postpaid, 3G/4G and international roaming, reported revenue of Rs 1,724 crore, marking an 8 per cent growth from Rs 1,594 crore a year ago.
Revenue from the Consumer Fixed Access segment, which includes landline and broadband services, stood at Rs 960 crore during the quarter, marginally higher than the corresponding period last year.
Scindia also appreciated the Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, UP West and Karnataka circles for their performance across key operational parameters.
FOCUS ON NETWORK QUALITY
Calling the performance "a strong start to the financial year", Scindia said BSNL must continue building on the momentum through consistent execution and improved customer experience.
Scindia said BSNL's three key business segments were showing positive momentum, adding that the company must sustain the growth through disciplined execution, regular monitoring and a continued focus on customer service.
The Union Communications Minister directed telecom circles to improve service quality by strengthening network uptime, reducing repair time and ensuring better customer experience.
