IndiGo's new budget-friendly 'Lite' fare for cabin baggage flyers takes off July 15

IndiGo has introduced a new budget-friendly fare called IndiGo Lite for Economy Class passengers. The new option is aimed at travellers who fly with only cabin baggage and do not want to pay for services they do not use.

The airline said IndiGo Lite will be available for booking from July 1, 2026, through its direct channels, including the IndiGo website, mobile app and contact centre. Travel under this fare will begin from July 15, 2026.

The new fare will be offered on both domestic and international non-stop flights. It will be available for one-way, return and multi-city bookings, and can be booked for both adults and children.

Announcing the launch on X, IndiGo said, "Travel smart. Travel Lite. Meet IndiGo Lite – a fare designed for those who carry less, wait less, and do more."

The airline believes the new fare will appeal to passengers looking for a simpler and more affordable travel option.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing, shares of InterGlobe Aviation, IndiGo's parent company, were trading 0.25% lower at Rs 5,355.50 on Wednesday.
