Horror gripped Ahmedabad's Sarakhaj when a Mercedes parked near LJ College revealed a grotesque secret. Inside, a decomposed body had been left unnoticed for six months. The vehicle had originally arrived at a nearby garage for repairs, but never returned to its owner.

Locals were struck by a foul odour emanating from the parked car. When police were called, the gruesome truth surfaced. Inspector LL Chavda told reporters, "The deceased is not the owner of the car. Our priority is to trace the owner and determine how this body ended up inside a vehicle for such a long time."

The car had been left in the garage half a year ago for repair due to an electrical fault with the doors. "The repair was never completed," the garage owner said. Police have taken him into custody, probing who sent the car for repair and the chain of events that followed.

The Mercedes carries registration GJ05 CP 1234, originally belonging to an industrialist who recently sold the vehicle. However, the registration has not yet been updated to the new owner. Authorities are actively tracking down the current owner and scrutinising CCTV footage around the car to see who came near it in the last few days.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem. Every detail, from the car’s journey to the identity of the deceased, remains a puzzle. With the body concealed for months in plain sight, the case has thrown Ahmedabad’s Sarakhaj neighbourhood into shock and fear.

"The questions are mounting," said Inspector Chavda. "Who is this man? How did he end up here? And why was no one aware of him for six months? We intend to find answers."
