A local resident recounted the chaotic scenes during the incident, saying that people from the neighbourhood came together to help those trapped inside the building.

"We live right across the street. When we realised a fire had broken out here, we rushed over immediately. The entire neighbourhood had come together to help. When we arrived, we saw vehicles exploding on the ground floor. There were seven bikes and a scooter, and they were all blowing up. We managed to extinguish the flames using water," the resident said.

The resident further claimed that locals rescued people from the rear side of the building by using sarees to help them climb down and by cutting through safety grilles to bring out girls who were trapped inside.
