A 22-year-old man named Keshav was seriously injured on Thursday night after a sudden firing incident occurred in North Delhi’s Bawana area, triggering a police investigation into suspected old enmity.
The incident took place in the Puth Khurd locality when the victim was returning home after visiting a gym. According to initial inputs, unidentified attackers arrived on a scooter and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Soon after the shooting, locals rushed the injured youth to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have described his condition as serious.
Police received a PCR call regarding the firing around 8:30 pm, after which multiple teams were deployed to the spot. Senior officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the district, also reached the location to assess the situation and supervise the investigation.
Preliminary suspicion points toward a possible old rivalry behind the attack, though officials have not ruled out other angles. Investigating teams are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and speaking to eyewitnesses to trace the movement of the assailants and establish their identity.
