Woman befriends new mother, flees with her 7-month-old from Delhi hospital

A seven-month-old child allegedly went missing from Delhi's GTB Hospital on Saturday after his mother handed him to a woman she had befriended in Seelampur.

A seven-month-old child allegedly went missing from GTB Hospital in Delhi on Saturday, following which police registered a kidnapping case and launched efforts to trace the infant and an unidentified woman.

According to police, a PCR call was received on May 31 regarding the alleged theft of a seven-month-old child.

During the inquiry, police found that the complainant, Nazreen, 23, wife of Mohd Shewaaz and a resident of Seelampur, had become friendly with an unknown woman in her locality. The woman had been meeting Nazreen regularly for the past one week.

On Saturday, Nazreen and the unidentified woman reportedly came together to GTB Hospital. Police said Nazreen handed over her seven-month-old son to the woman before entering the hospital to obtain a medical slip.

When Nazreen returned, she allegedly found that both the woman and her son were missing.

Police have registered a case of kidnapping and are making efforts to trace the missing child and the unidentified woman.
