Soon after the firing, a purported audio clip and a social media post surfaced online claiming that the Bishnoi gang had carried out the attack.

The post was allegedly issued by gang members Tyson Bishnoi, Aarzoo Bishnoi, and Hari Boxer.

In the audio, an alleged gang member claimed that Guru Randhawa was being targeted because of his closeness to Salman Khan.

The speaker further describes the attack as "just a trailer."

However, police officials cautioned that the authenticity of the audio clip and the social media post has not yet been established.

Police have said that multiple teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the attackers.

Police are analysing CCTV footage from the area and gathering forensic evidence from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.

Guru Randhawa has not publicly commented on the incident so far.

Thursday's attack comes nearly a month after the Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for a shooting outside the residence of Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's manager, Gurpartap Singh Kang, in Haryana's Karnal.

The gang had alleged that a member of Dosanjh's team had exploited and harassed women during the singer's Australia tour, and cited that as the reason for the attack.
