In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Delhi Law Minister Kapil Mishra responded to the conviction of Tahir Hussain and four others in the 2020 North East Delhi riots case, which resulted in the death of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma. Mishra welcomed the judicial verdict but stated that Hussain was merely an actor, alleging that the true masterminds behind the violence are still at large. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh, of shielding rioters and failing to support Hindu victims. Mishra stated, 'Blood is on their hands. They are responsible. Their party has tried to protect Tahir Hussain and other criminals like him.' He further claimed that a broader ecosystem involving politicians, lawyers, journalists, and NGOs supported the blockade of roads and defended the perpetrators. Mishra reiterated his commitment to assisting the families of the riot victims and expressed confidence that the actual directors of the violence would eventually face justice.
