Hyderabad now has a Donald Trump Avenue, city road named after US President
Telangana renamed a road adjoining the US Consulate in Hyderabad as 'Donald Trump Avenue', describing it as a tribute to the US and a symbol of Hyderabad's growing role in the India-US strategic partnership.

A road adjoining the United States Consulate in Hyderabad has been renamed 'Donald Trump Avenue' as part of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence, with the Telangana government describing the move as a tribute to the United States and a reflection of Hyderabad's growing role in the India-US strategic partnership.
The ceremonial plaque renaming the road was unveiled by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka during the Freedom 250 celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The road, previously known as US Consulate Road in the Financial District at Nanakramguda, now bears the new designation.
According to a statement from the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, the renaming honours the United States and recognises Hyderabad's increasing importance as a hub for bilateral engagement, particularly in technology, aerospace and defence.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Gor said Hyderabad exemplifies the rapid expansion of India-US ties. "Nowhere is the high-speed trajectory of the US-India partnership more evident than in Hyderabad. From HITEC City to aerospace and defence, this region represents progress that is defining US-India bilateral momentum," he said.
Thanking the Telangana government for the gesture, Gor said naming the road after US President Donald Trump reflected the "strong, respectful partnership" championed by the American leader. He also referred to the proposed interim trade agreement and the Mission India initiative, saying they were expected to bring more than USD 20 billion in new investment to the United States.
Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka congratulated the American people on the occasion of the country's 250th Independence Day and said Telangana had emerged as a key partner in strengthening India-US relations. He described Hyderabad as one of India's most important gateways for engagement with the United States.
US Consul General Laura Williams, who hosted her first Independence Day reception in Hyderabad, highlighted the region's growing role in advancing cooperation in aerospace, defence, artificial intelligence and biopharma across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
The Freedom 250 reception was attended by senior diplomats, government officials, industry leaders, and representatives from the technology, aerospace and defence sectors. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also participated in the celebrations.
