Video: Man jumps from first floor window to escape huge Lucknow building fire

At least 15 people were killed in a massive fire that broke out in a three-storey commercial building in Lucknow on Monday, sparking panic among people and prompting a major rescue operation. Dramatic visuals showed a man jumping from a first-floor window to escape the flames and thick smoke engulfing the building, which houses an animation studio and a pet shop.

The man can be seen climbing out of a shattered window and attempting to hang onto a ledge before losing his grip. He fell onto a fence and then to the ground, where bystanders rushed to help and carry him to safety. He was taken to a hospital and is undergoing treatment.

Initial reports suggested that the fire occurred in a coaching centre, but senior police officials said there was no coaching centre or library around the area where the blaze broke out. Police said there is a pet shop on the ground floor and an animation studio on the top floor.

The blaze has been doused and rescue operations are underway.
