Milind Deora wants BMC to implement Assam's name and shame public urinators model

A civic initiative by the Tinsukia municipality in Assam has sparked a nationwide debate on public hygiene. The municipality has started displaying images of individuals caught urinating in public on LED screens to name and shame them. While some welcome this approach as a deterrent against habitual offenders, others raise concerns regarding individual privacy and dignity. The campaign has reignited discussions in other cities, with Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora calling for the implementation of a similar model in Mumbai to instill civic sense and penalise civic violators.
