4 men who robbed people after offering them lift arrested in Noida
The arrests came after the group allegedly lured a man into their car and robbed him of his iPhone 16, cash, and other belongings. According to the FIR, they also intimidated him into unlocking the smartphone and transferred money from his bank account to their own.
Police in Noida have arrested four men who allegedly used to rob unsuspecting people under the pretext of offering them a lift. The accused have been identified as Amit, Nitin, Vivek, and Rishi.
The arrests came after they allegedly lured a man into their car and robbed him of his iPhone 16, cash, and other belongings. According to the FIR, the group also intimidated him into unlocking the smartphone and transferred money from his bank account to their own.
Besides the stolen items, including the mobile phone, the police also recovered the car used in the crime from the possession of the accused, officials said. The complaint in the matter was filed on June 29.
The complainant had claimed that he was robbed by some individuals while he was in the Sector 50 area of the city. The police relied on human intelligence and electronic surveillance to identify the suspects.
Subsequently, the accused were arrested on June 30, a day after the complaint was lodged. During questioning, they allegedly told the police that they were friends and hailed from the Firozabad district.
The accused said they used to work as drivers and labourers in the Delhi-NCR region before turning to crime to make quick money, officials said. Investigators are now looking into their criminal backgrounds and trying to determine whether they were involved in other such incidents.
