A massive fire broke out in a five-storey residential building in Noida's Mamura village, claiming the lives of a man and a woman. The blaze reportedly started in the ground-floor parking area after an electric scooter's battery, which was on charge, sparked and ignited nearby vehicles. The rapid spread of the fire and thick smoke trapped residents in the congested building, which housed around 50 to 60 families. Rescue operations were carried out using ladders connected to adjacent buildings and back entrances. The victims reportedly succumbed to severe smoke inhalation. Following the tragic incident, authorities registered a First Information Report and took the building owner into custody.
