The second board examination, held from May 15 to May 21, was the first Phase 2 examination conducted under CBSE's new two-board examination system for Class 10 introduced from the 2026 academic session. The system allows students to improve their performance without waiting for a compartment examination.

According to CBSE, the higher score obtained in each subject across the two board examinations will be treated as the final score under the "better marks" policy. This means students who score lower in the second attempt will retain their better score from the first examination.
