Students whose CBSE Class 12 marks changed after verification or re-evaluation will soon receive revised physical marksheets, but they will first have to hand over their old ones.

Sources told PTI that revised marksheets will be made available through CBSE's regional offices in the coming weeks. Before collecting the updated document, candidates will be required to surrender their original marksheet issued after the declaration of results.

For students who need proof of their updated scores immediately, CBSE has said there is no need to wait for the physical copy. The revised marksheet has already been uploaded to DigiLocker and is valid for admissions and all official purposes.

MORE THAN 87% RESULTS ALREADY DECLARED

The clarification comes a day after CBSE began releasing the outcomes of Class 12 verification and re-evaluation applications.

According to the board, around 87 per cent of the total applications received have already been processed and declared in the first phase. The remaining results are being released in stages and the entire process is expected to be completed soon.

CBSE said every application has been examined through a "robust, transparent and carefully monitored system" to ensure fairness and accuracy.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKED

CBSE declared Class 12 board results for around 17.69 lakh students on May 13. Candidates were later allowed to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books between May 19 and May 25.

After reviewing those copies, students could apply for verification of observed issues and re-evaluation from June 2 to June 7.

Now, as revised results continue to roll out, students whose marks have changed can already access their updated scorecards digitally, while the physical marksheets will follow through CBSE's regional offices.
