CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation results delayed, students flood social media with queries
Days after the Supreme Court urged CBSE to expedite the process and work towards releasing the results by Friday, students awaiting revised Class 12 scores were still searching for answers as no official announcement had been made by Friday evening.

Students awaiting their CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation results are growing increasingly anxious as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to release the revised scores, despite expectations that the results would be declared before the end of the week.
Since Friday morning, several students have taken to X (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms seeking updates from the board, with many claiming they had expected the results to be announced earlier in the day. As of Friday evening, however, no official update had been issued by CBSE regarding the declaration of the re-evaluation results.
The delay comes amid an ongoing controversy surrounding this year’s Class 12 evaluation and re-evaluation process, which has triggered widespread concern among students, parents and education experts.
Thousands of students sought verification of marks, photocopies of answer sheets and re-evaluation after raising concerns about discrepancies in the original results and questions surrounding the implementation of CBSE’s revised evaluation framework.
"I have been refreshing the CBSE portal since this morning because we were expecting the results today. My college admission process is on hold and there has been no communication from the board," said a Class 12 student from Delhi who had applied for re-evaluation.
Another student from Kerala awaiting a revised score said, "We were told to expect clarity this week. Many of us are stuck because admission deadlines are approaching and we still don’t know when the results will be released."
SUPREME COURT HAD STEPPED IN
The issue recently reached the Supreme Court after concerns were raised that delays in the declaration of results could adversely affect students seeking admissions, particularly Indian students studying in Gulf countries.
During a hearing earlier this week, the apex court directed CBSE to take all necessary steps to expedite the process and positively work towards releasing the results by Friday. The court reportedly observed that the board should do whatever was necessary, even "burn the midnight oil", to ensure that students were not made to suffer because of administrative delays.
The court's intervention came after petitions highlighted that students in West Asian countries were facing uncertainty in securing admissions because of delays linked to CBSE's result and re-evaluation process.
HOW THE CONTROVERSY UNFOLDED
The controversy dates back to the declaration of the CBSE Class 12 results in May 2026.
Following the announcement of results, students across the country raised concerns about unusually low scores, discrepancies in evaluation and issues linked to the board’s revised post-result grievance mechanism. CBSE subsequently opened the process for obtaining scanned copies of answer books, verification of marks and re-evaluation under its updated framework.
However, the process soon ran into difficulties.
Students reported glitches and delays related to the Online Scanned Marksheet (OSM) system and the activation of the re-evaluation portal. CBSE was forced to revise timelines and extend deadlines after technical issues affected students attempting to apply for verification and re-evaluation.
As the number of re-evaluation requests grew, frustration among students also increased. Many candidates claimed that admission decisions, entrance counselling and future academic plans were being affected by the prolonged wait for revised results. Concerns were particularly acute among students applying to universities with strict admission deadlines.

Mid-May 2026: Students begin raising concerns over evaluation, answer-sheet access and score discrepancies. CBSE announces a revised post-result framework.

June 1–6, 2026: CBSE opens and subsequently extends timelines for verification of marks and re-evaluation requests after technical difficulties.
June 9, 2026: The Supreme Court directs CBSE to expedite the process and place a plan before the court, while urging the board to ensure results are released by the end of the week.
June 12, 2026: Students continue awaiting re-evaluation results as queries flood social media and no official announcement has been made by Friday evening.
For now, students remain in limbo, with many saying that admission decisions, counselling schedules and academic plans are hanging on the release of the revised scores.
With Friday yet to conclude and no communication from the board so far, students continue to wait for clarity on when the revised marks will finally be declared.
