NTA drops 7 questions from CUET UG final answer key: When are results expected?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the final answer key for CUET UG 2026, dropping seven questions after reviewing candidate objections. With the answer key now finalised, the agency is expected to announce results soon, enabling universities to begin the admission process for the 2026–27 academic session.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the final answer key for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026, bringing candidates a step closer to the declaration of results.
The final answer key was issued on June 22 after experts reviewed objections raised against the provisional answer key. Earlier, the provisional key, along with candidates’ recorded responses and question papers, was made available on June 9, and students were allowed to submit challenges until June 11.
Following a detailed evaluation of the objections, the NTA revised certain responses and published the final answer key. The agency has stated that this version is final, and no further challenges will be entertained.
CUET UG 2026 results will be compiled based on the final answer key. Once announced, candidates will be able to access their scorecards online and use them for admission to undergraduate programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.
NTA DROPS SEVEN QUESTIONS AFTER REVIEW
Following a review of challenges submitted by candidates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has withdrawn seven questions from the CUET UG 2026 examination. The decision was taken after subject experts assessed objections raised against the provisional answer key.
The agency has also clarified that candidates will not receive marks for questions they did not attempt. Scores will be determined using the revised final answer key in accordance with the prescribed marking scheme.
OVER 15.68 LAKH CANDIDATES REGISTERED
CUET UG 2026 witnessed massive participation, with a total of 15,68,867 unique candidates registering for the examination. The entrance test remains one of the largest undergraduate admission examinations in the country, serving as a gateway to central, state, deemed, and private universities.
The CUET UG 2026 examination was conducted between May 11 and May 31, followed by additional sessions on June 6 and June 7. The test was held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 321 examination cities in India and abroad.
Each subject paper consisted of 50 compulsory questions and was conducted over a duration of 60 minutes. Unlike previous editions, the examination was held entirely in CBT mode, ensuring a uniform testing process across centres.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE RESULT?
Following the declaration of results, participating universities will begin their admission processes based on CUET UG 2026 scores. Institutions will prepare separate merit lists according to their eligibility criteria, programme requirements, and seat availability.
Candidates should regularly check the websites of their preferred universities for counselling schedules, cut-offs, admission guidelines, and seat allocation details.
