OVER 15.6 LAKH CANDIDATES REGISTERED FOR CUET UG 2026
According to NTA, a total of 15,68,867 unique candidates registered for CUET UG 2026, while 11,64,098 candidates appeared for the examination.
The figures highlight the growing popularity and acceptance of CUET as a single-window admission platform for higher education institutions across the country. The steady rise in participation over the years reflects increasing trust among students and universities in the national-level entrance examination system.
CUET UG 2026 was conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode between May 11 and May 31, with additional examinations held on June 6 and June 7.
REGISTRATIONS JUMP BY MORE THAN 15 PERCENT
The latest edition of CUET UG witnessed a substantial increase in registrations compared to last year.
While 13,54,699 candidates had registered for the examination in 2025, registrations rose to 15,68,867 in 2026, marking an increase of over 15 per cent. The number of candidates appearing for the examination also grew significantly, from 10,71,735 last year to 11,64,098 this year.
Among the registered candidates, 7,94,257 were male, 7,74,607 were female, and three belonged to the third-gender category. Notably, NTA reported a considerable rise in female participation, reflecting broader access to higher education opportunities and increasing awareness about the examination.

This year's results showcased exceptional academic performances from candidates across the country.
According to NTA, one candidate achieved a perfect 100 percentile score in four of the five subjects opted for in the examination—a rare feat that underscores the level of preparation and excellence displayed by top performers.
The agency further revealed that:
- 22 candidates secured the 100th percentile in three subjects
- 180 candidates achieved 100 percentile in two subjects
- 3,214 candidates scored 100 percentile in one subject

Leading the list is candidate 263510269243, who secured the highest aggregate NTA score of 1232.19. Close behind was candidate 263510280526 with 1230.82, while candidate 263510250636 claimed the third spot with an impressive 1207.21.
