NTA releases CUET UG 2026 results, female participation jumps 20%
The National Testing Agency has declared the CUET UG 2026 results, allowing candidates to download scorecards and move to the admissions stage across participating universities.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the CUET UG 2026 results, bringing relief and excitement to lakhs of students aspiring for admission to undergraduate programmes across the country. With the declaration of results, the admission process at central, state, deemed, and private universities accepting CUET scores is set to begin.
Candidates who appeared for the Common University Entrance Test (UG) can now access and download their scorecards from the official CUET website.
This year, more than 11.64 lakh candidates appeared for the national-level entrance examination, making CUET one of the largest undergraduate admission tests in India.
HOW TO CHECK CUET UG RESULT 2026 ONLINE
Candidates can check and download their CUET UG 2026 scorecards by visiting the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in, and clicking on the “CUET UG Result 2026” link available on the homepage.
Entering their application number and password, candidates need to submit the login credentials to access their result. The scorecard will then be displayed on the screen, which can be downloaded and saved for future reference during the admission and counselling process.

RECORD PARTICIPATION IN CUET UG 2026
CUET UG 2026 witnessed one of the largest participation levels in the examination's history. According to NTA data, 15,68,867 unique candidates registered for the examination, while 11,64,098 candidates appeared. The examination generated approximately 67.56 lakh test instances across 1296 subject combinations.
The computer-based test (CBT) was conducted from May 13 to May 31 and June 6 to June 7, 2026, in 35 shifts across 321 cities, including 13 international locations such as Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Riyadh and Washington.
FEMALE PARTICIPATION SHOWS STRONG GROWTH
One of the key highlights of CUET UG 2026 was the significant rise in female participation.
NTA reported that the total number of registered candidates increased by more than 15 per cent compared to the previous year, while the number of female candidates rose by nearly 20 per cent, indicating stronger participation from women aspirants and a narrowing gender gap in higher education entrance examinations.

- Female candidates registered: 7,74,607
- Male candidates registered: 7,94,257
- Third gender candidates registered: 3
ENGLISH, CHEMISTRY AND GAT EMERGE AS MOST POPULAR SUBJECTS
Among individual subjects, English remained the most preferred paper with more than 12.64 lakh registrations, followed by Chemistry, General Aptitude Test (GAT), Physics, and Mathematics/Applied Mathematics.
The highest NTA scores recorded in major subjects included:
- Psychology – 250.00
- Sanskrit – 250.00
- Odia – 250.00
- Biology/Biological Science/Biotechnology/Biochemistry – 249.70
- Business Studies – 249.57
- Economics/Business Economics – 249.54
TOP SCORERS CROSS 1,200 AGGREGATE NTA SCORE
NTA has also released details of the top-performing candidates. The highest aggregate NTA score in five subjects stood at 1232.19, with several candidates crossing the 1,200-mark, reflecting intense competition among aspirants seeking admission to India's leading universities.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE RESULT?
NTA has clarified that its role is limited to conducting the examination, releasing answer keys, preparing scorecards and declaring results. The admission process, merit list preparation, seat allocation and counselling will be carried out individually by participating universities and institutions. Candidates are advised to regularly check the websites of their preferred universities for admission schedules and counselling updates.
A notable achievement this year is the speed of result processing. NTA stated that the CUET UG 2026 result has been declared on June 23, 2026, just 16 days after the conclusion of the examination, reducing the result timeline by approximately 14 days compared to the previous cycle.
