CUET UG students flag answer key errors, say question IDs don't match

The release of the CUET UG 2026 provisional answer key has sparked a fresh controversy, with candidates alleging that the question IDs mentioned in their answer keys do not correspond to the questions they attempted during the examination.

The concern first emerged on social media after a candidate highlighted the issue on X, prompting several other aspirants to claim that they had encountered similar discrepancies while reviewing their answer keys.

STUDENTS RAISE CONCERNS ONLINE

In a post on X, the candidate tagged the National Testing Agency (NTA) and wrote, "What is this @NTA_Exams? My CUET answer key is wrong, not matching any question ID."

The post quickly gained traction, with several other candidates joining the discussion and reporting similar discrepancies.

NTA ASKS FOR APPLICATION DETAILS

Responding to the complaint, the NTA requested the candidate to share their CUET UG 2026 application number via direct message so that the matter could be examined.

ANSWER KEY CHALLENGE WINDOW OPEN

Candidates who wish to challenge the CUET UG 2026 provisional answer key can do so through the official website until June 11. A non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question is applicable for each challenge.

According to the NTA, all objections will be examined by subject experts. If any challenge is found to be valid, the answer key will be revised and the correction will be applied across all affected candidates.

The final answer key, prepared after the expert review process, will be used to compile the CUET UG 2026 results. The agency has also stated that candidates will not receive individual notifications regarding the acceptance or rejection of their objections.

This year, a total of 15.68 lakh candidates registered for CUET UG 2026. The examination was conducted between May 13 and June 3, with a special re-test held on June 2 and 4 for candidates affected by technical issues during an earlier shift.
