DU UG admissions 2026: Registrations cross 1.42 Lakh, over 43,500 submit preferences

Delhi University has received over 1.42 lakh registrations for undergraduate admissions for 2026–27, with more than 43,500 candidates already submitting programme and college preferences under Phase II of CSAS. Admissions to over 71,000 seats across 67 colleges will be based on CUET-UG 2026 scores.

Delhi University has received over 1.42 lakh registrations for undergraduate admissions for the 2026–27 academic session, with more than 43,500 candidates already submitting their programme and college preferences under the second phase of the admission process, officials said on Saturday.

According to Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi, a total of 1,42,733 applicants completed Phase I of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Of these, 43,547 candidates have filled in their preferred programmes and colleges as part of Phase II.

The second phase of the undergraduate admission process commenced on July 3 and will remain open until 11:59 pm on July 11.

OVER 71,000 SEATS ON OFFER ACROSS 67 COLLEGES

Admissions to more than 71,000 undergraduate seats across 67 colleges will be conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) based on CUET-UG 2026 scores. The admission process covers 73 undergraduate programmes and over 100 BA programme combinations, subject to programme-specific eligibility requirements.

As part of Phase II, candidates must first map the subjects they appeared for in CUET-UG 2026 with those they studied in Class 12 before submitting their preferred programme and college choices, officials said.

As per the admission schedule, simulated ranks will be published on the CSAS portal at 5 pm on July 12. Candidates will then have an opportunity to revise and reorder their programme and college preferences until July 13.

SEAT ALLOCATION TIMELINE AND KEY ADMISSION DATES

The first seat allocation list is scheduled to be released on July 16. Candidates allotted seats must confirm their acceptance by July 18, while colleges will complete the verification process by July 20. The deadline for paying the admission fee under the first round is July 21.

The second seat allocation list will be published on July 25. Students allotted seats in this round will be required to accept them by July 26, after which colleges will verify admissions by July 27. The last date to pay the admission fee for the second round is July 28.

The 2026–27 academic session at Delhi University is set to begin on July 28.

To participate in the admission process, candidates must register on the CSAS portal using their CUET-UG 2026 application number. The university has integrated applicants' basic details through the Government of India's API Setu, a move aimed at reducing data-entry errors and strengthening the security of the admission process.

A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of Rs 250 is applicable for candidates belonging to the unreserved, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories, while SC, ST, and PwBD applicants are required to pay Rs 100.
