The University of Delhi (DU) on Friday opened Phase I registration for undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), beginning the admission process for thousands of aspirants who appeared for CUET UG 2026.

Candidates can register by logging into the university's UG admission portal and completing the one-time application process. Admissions to all undergraduate programmes will be conducted on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 scores, in line with the university's admission policy.

This year, Delhi University is offering admission to over 71,000 undergraduate seats across more than 70 colleges. The university has also announced that the new academic session will commence on July 21, provided the admission schedule progresses as planned.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CSAS PHASE I?

The first phase of CSAS involves candidate registration, verification of personal details, category and reservation claims, and payment of the application fee. Students are also required to confirm their CUET application details before proceeding further.

Once the university receives the CUET UG score data from the National Testing Agency (NTA), it will open CSAS Phase II, during which candidates will submit their preferences for colleges and programmes. Seat allocation will be carried out based on CUET scores, programme-specific eligibility, reservation policies and the preferences filled by candidates.

NEW FEATURE THIS YEAR

To make the application process smoother, DU has introduced an API Setu integration, allowing several candidate details to be auto-filled from official records, reducing manual data entry and the chances of errors.

DOCUMENTS TO KEEP READY

Applicants should keep the following documents ready while filling the application form:

  1. CUET UG 2026 application details
  2. Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates
  3. Category, EWS or PwBD certificates (if applicable)
  4. Passport-size photograph and signature
  5. Valid identity proof

ADMISSION PROCESS

After the preference-filling stage, Delhi University will announce seat allocations in multiple rounds. Candidates allotted a seat will have to accept the allocation, get their documents verified by the respective college, and pay the admission fee within the stipulated deadline. Students may also opt for an upgrade in subsequent rounds if eligible.

If seats remain vacant after the regular rounds, the university is expected to conduct spot admission rounds.

University officials have advised candidates to carefully read the Bulletin of Information and complete the registration well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
