Delhi University has released the second postgraduate allocation list for the 2026-27 session after 8,150 students confirmed seats in round one. The update brings 2,964 fresh allocations and gives candidates new cut-off data for the remaining rounds.

Delhi University has released the second round of postgraduate seat allocations for the 2026-27 academic session, taking the admission process a step further after thousands of students secured seats in the first round.
According to the university, 2,964 fresh allocations have been made under the Common Seat Allocation System for postgraduate programmes.
The latest announcement comes after a busy first round that saw 11,548 seat allocations offered across various master's programmes. Of these, 10,393 candidates accepted their allotted seats.
By the fee payment deadline on June 19, a total of 8,150 students had completed the admission process, confirming their seats by paying the required fees.
FREEZE, UPGRADE OR WAIT?
The university's data offers a glimpse into how students are navigating the admission process. Among those who secured admissions in the first round, 3,399 candidates chose to freeze their allotted seats, signalling satisfaction with their current choice.
Meanwhile, 2,448 students opted for an upgrade, hoping to secure a higher preference in subsequent rounds. Another 2,303 candidates neither selected the freeze option nor sought an upgrade.
The second-round allocations have now been made available on the postgraduate admissions portal. The university has also published the minimum allocation scores for various programmes, allowing candidates to assess their chances in upcoming rounds.
MORE ADMISSIONS STILL UNDERWAY
Delhi University is simultaneously conducting admissions for its five-year integrated law programme and B Tech courses. The university said 104 admissions have been confirmed so far in the integrated law programme, while the third round of seat allocations began on Monday.
For B Tech admissions, registrations closed on June 18 with 3,620 applications received. A correction window remained open until June 20, and the first admission list is scheduled to be released on June 24.
University officials have advised candidates to regularly monitor the admissions portal for updates on seat allocations, document verification and fee payment deadlines.
With thousands of seats still in play and multiple admission rounds remaining, the coming weeks are expected to be crucial for applicants waiting for preferred programmes and colleges. The university said timely action by candidates will be essential to avoid missing admission opportunities during the ongoing process.
