The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key for the NEET-UG 2026 re-test conducted on June 21, opening the answer key challenge window for eligible candidates until June 28 (11:50 PM). The agency has also launched a separate portal for candidates to submit their bank account details to facilitate fee refunds.

The NEET-UG 2026 re-test was conducted following directions issued in connection with the examination process. More than 22 lakh candidates had appeared for the NEET-UG 2026 examination, making it one of the country's largest entrance tests for undergraduate medical admissions.

Candidates who appeared in the June 21 re-test can now access the provisional answer key on the official NEET website and raise objections against any answer they believe is incorrect by paying the prescribed fee.

HOW CAN CANDIDATES CHALLENGE THE ANSWER KEY?

The answer key challenge facility is available from June 25 to June 28 (up to 11:50 PM). To submit objections, candidates must visit neet.nta.nic.in, enter the Question Paper Series Code mentioned on their test booklet, select the question(s) they wish to challenge, upload supporting evidence from NCERT or other standard textbooks, pay the prescribed challenge fee of Rs 200 per question, and submit the application after carefully reviewing all details.

NTA has clarified that the submission process is a one-time facility, and no modifications will be permitted after the final submission. Candidates have therefore been advised to verify all details carefully before making the payment.

The challenge fee will be refunded if the objection is accepted after review by subject experts.

WHEN CAN CANDIDATES SUBMIT BANK DETAILS FOR FEE REFUND?

In a separate notification, NTA has asked candidates who appeared in the NEET-UG 2026 re-test to submit their bank account details through the official portal to enable the processing of fee refunds.

The bank details must be submitted on or before June 30. The agency has advised candidates to enter their banking information carefully to avoid delays in receiving the refund.

WHEN WILL THE NEET-UG 2026 RETEST RESULT BE DECLARED?

According to NTA, the review of answer key challenges is being carried out simultaneously with the evaluation of OMR answer sheets to ensure that results are declared as early as possible.

"Expert review runs in parallel with OMR scanning, so that results can be declared at the earliest possible date," the agency said.
