Noida, Greater Noida revise school timings for Classes 1 to 8 amid intense heat
Gautam Buddh Nagar authorities have revised school timings for Classes 1 to 8 in Noida and Greater Noida. The move aims to reduce children's exposure to heat, with all schools told to comply until further orders.

School timings for students of Classes 1 to 8 in Noida and Greater Noida have been revised due to the prevailing heat conditions, the District Basic Education Officer announced.
Under the new order, schools will operate from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm with effect from June 29, 2026, until further orders.
The directive applies to all government, government-aided, recognised, CBSE, ICSE, Madrasa and other board-affiliated schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar district.
The decision has been taken to protect children from rising temperatures and reduce their exposure to the heat during school hours.
The District Basic Education Officer has directed all schools to strictly implement the revised timings and ensure compliance with the order until further instructions are issued.
DELAY IN MONSOON KEEPS TEMPERATURES HIGH ACROSS NORTH INDIA
The change in school timings comes as several parts of north India continue to experience high temperatures due to a delay in the advance of the southwest monsoon.
Parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan have witnessed hot and humid conditions over the past few days, with daytime temperatures remaining above normal in many areas.
The prolonged heat has prompted authorities in several districts to take precautionary measures to protect children and other vulnerable groups.
Officials have advised people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated and follow heat-related advisories until weather conditions improve.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that the monsoon is expected to advance further over north India as conditions become favourable, which could bring relief from the prevailing heat in the coming days.
