Inside Una's Rs 15 Lakh modern library helping aspirants crack exams for Rs 200
The Una district administration has launched the Rs. 15 lakh 'Samarth Gyandeep Library' under the Samarth initiative to support competitive exam aspirants. Offering modern facilities at ₹200 per month, the library aims to promote disciplined study, with similar centres also being expanded across the district.

Success in competitive examinations depends not only on hard work but also on a calm, disciplined, and motivating study environment. With this objective in mind, the Una district administration has launched a new library under the ‘Samarth’ initiative, officials said on Sunday.
The ‘Samarth Gyandeep Library’, located at the Mini Secretariat, has been developed at a cost of 15 lakh. It is emerging as a key study centre for youth preparing for competitive examinations and higher education.
The ‘Samarth’ initiative, aimed at empowering youth and women, seeks to provide young people with constructive opportunities, quality resources, and effective guidance.
Conceived by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, the library provides a conducive study environment for competitive examination aspirants within the district itself. Officials said it not only serves as a dedicated space for focused study but also aims to foster a stronger culture of learning among the youth.
They added that talent is not dependent on resources, and what young people need is an environment that allows them to prepare for their goals with complete concentration and discipline.
LIBRARY NETWORK EXPANDS ACROSS UNA DISTRICT
In addition to the facility at the Mini Secretariat in Una, Samarth Gyandeep Libraries have also been set up in Panjawar and Mairi Khas. Work is also underway to modernise the library at Shri Maidas Sadan (Mata Shri Chintpurni Complex) to offer improved study facilities to a larger number of students.
Assistant Commissioner Vinay Modi said the library operates daily from 9 am to 6 pm and can accommodate up to 30 students at a time. It provides an air-conditioned study room, free Wi-Fi, modern furniture, comfortable seating, and a quiet, disciplined environment.
Students can access the facility for a nominal fee of 200 per month.
