The CBSE Class 10 second board exam 2026 was conducted between May 15 and May 21, 2026, under the revised dual-exam system introduced to provide students with an additional opportunity to improve scores within the same academic year. The exam was held in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm across multiple centres in India and abroad.
As per official data, over 6.68 lakh students registered for the second phase examination, including improvement candidates and compartment students, making it one of the largest academic assessment cycles. The system allows the best of the two exam scores to be considered final, giving students flexibility in performance improvement.
