However, according to a report by Hindustan Times, Aujla’s team clarified on Monday that the account featured in the screenshot was fake and had no association with the singer.
Social media users also began pointing out inconsistencies in the viral image. Many noted that the username visible in the screenshot did not match Karan Aujla’s official social media handle.
The alleged post also reportedly contained spelling mistakes, which users found unusual for a celebrity account managed professionally. These details further fuelled claims that the screenshot may have been fabricated or created using an impersonator account.
Karan Aujla has not personally commented on the controversy so far.
The viral speculation comes while the singer is touring India as part of his P-Pop Culture India Tour. He began the tour with a performance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on February 28 and later performed in Kolkata on April 3.
His tour also faced criticism after his Mumbai concert in March was called out for alleged mismanagement. Following the backlash, the singer returned to Mumbai for another performance on April 12.
