Taylor Swift released I Knew It, I Knew You from Toy Story 5 and shared a rare childhood video. The post underscored her bond with the franchise and the character Jessie's emotional pull before the film's release on June 19.

Pop star Taylor Swift released her new song, I Knew It, I Knew You, on June 5 and marked the moment with a rare childhood video for fans. In a social media post, the pop star also shared how writing the song for Toy Story 5 felt both new and familiar, as she reflected on her long connection with the franchise.
Swift said creating the track for Jessie, the cowgirl character from the films, felt like “a musical departure and coming home at the same time”. She also thanked director Andrew Stanton and composer Randy Newman, while saying she and longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff wrote the song with “so much adoration” for the characters they grew up with.
In the caption of her post, the 36-year-old wrote, “Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 till now is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond (sic).”
She also thanked Stanton for thinking of her for the project when he wrote the new film, and praised Newman for building the musical world of Toy Story through its songs and scores over the years.
Swift ended the note by bringing in Antonoff, writing, “By we, I mean myself and my pal @jackantonoff. We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods. I Knew It, I Knew You from Toy Story 5 is out everywhere now (sic).”
