Kanye West's India concert called off

Rapper Kanye West's India debut concert, which was scheduled for May 23 this year in New Delhi, has been postponed for the second time. The concert of the rapper, who currently goes by the name of Ye, has been postponed after authorities issued security-related directives, the organisers said. The planned show has already been called off once earlier this year.

The show had been scheduled for May 23, 2026, and was set to mark the first India performance by the artiste. Organisers said the May 23 event would not take place following instructions from government and law enforcement agencies, citing safety concerns for fans and the public.

Event organisers White Fox announced the cancellation in an official statement shared on Instagram.

The statement said, "We are deeply disheartened to announce that Ye Live in India, scheduled for 23rd May 2026 in New Delhi, will not be able to proceed due to directives issued by officials. After months of planning and preparation for what was set to be one of the largest live productions ever staged in India, the safety and well-being of attendees and the citizens of India remain our highest priority during this sensitive time. We extend our sincere gratitude to every fan, partner, crew member, and supporter who stood with us throughout this journey."

White Fox also said it is in talks with Ye’s team over a possible new date and venue for the concert.

Along with the cancellation announcement, the organisers said all tickets bought through the official platform District would be fully refunded within five to seven business days.

Concert had already been postponed once

Ye’s India debut had earlier been scheduled for March 29, 2026, but was postponed because of geopolitical tensions and wider regional concerns linked to the US-Iran situation. The concert was later rescheduled for May 23, with Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium announced as the venue.

Part of wider touring setbacks

The cancellation is the latest setback around Ye’s global touring plans over the past year. Reports have said several of his international concerts were either cancelled or blocked because of logistical issues and controversies linked to his past statements.
