Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna-starrer courtroom drama Ikka, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, is set to premiere on July 10. The film brings the two actors together in a legal drama centred on a tense and personal conflict.

Netflix's Ikka unfolds as a high-stakes courtroom battle in which personal history, moral conflict and clashing ideologies collide. At the centre of the story is a celebrated lawyer, played by Sunny Deol, who is forced to defend a man from his past, played by Akshaye Khanna. His return reopens old wounds and compels the lawyer to take on a case that challenges everything he believes in.

According to the film's synopsis, the lawyer must navigate the case with his family to protect and his principles on the line, with every move carrying a cost. The film marks Sunny Deol's return to the courtroom after 33 years, with his last role as a lawyer having come in the 1993 film Damini.

Ikka also reunites Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, who previously featured together in the 1999 war drama Border. Produced by Alchemy Films, the cast of the film also includes Sanjeeda Shaikh, Shishir Sharma and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor.

Sunny's last theatrical release was Border 2 (2026). The film, directed by Anurag Singh, also featured actors Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa and Anya Singh in key roles.

Akshaye was last seen in director Aditya Dhar's 2025 espionage thriller, Dhurandhar. The film also featured actors Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, Manav Gohil, Sanjay Dutt and Danish Pandor in crucial roles.
