A new behind-the-scenes video from the shoot of India's Got Latent 2 shows actor Alia Bhatt praising comedian Samay Raina. She also shared a sweet anecdote about watching the show while her daughter Raha was asleep beside her. Raina shared the clip in the members-only section of his YouTube channel.

The video shows Raina interacting with Alia and Sharvari before the shoot and giving them gift hampers containing a signed photograph of himself. The exchange left both actors laughing, while another segment featured Alia speaking warmly about Samay and Balraj’s friendship.

Alia spoke about Samay and Balraj’s bond. “In the special, when you talked about your friendship, I could actually see it. It was so nicely explained and expressed. I was crying over there. So I feel like I know both of you really well because of this special,” she said.

She further shared that she had watched India’s Got Latent on a flight after Raina sent her an episode. “I have only watched Latent on my flight. You sent me that episode, and I was laughing loudly. I didn’t realise Raha was sleeping next to me. I was disturbing everybody,” she said.

Raina then handed Alia a gift hamper. When she saw the framed photograph of him inside, she burst out laughing at the text on it, which read, “Always wanted to give my autograph to someone like you.”

Raina also gifted Sharvari a signed photograph, and she laughed as she received it. “This is so precious, and this has to go on my bedside table because I always wanted an autograph from Samay,” she said.

First episode gets mixed response online

The first episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2 opened with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the guest chairs, but it received a divided response online. Soon after it went live, several viewers said the new season did not have the same raw energy that made the first one popular. Some described the humour as toned down, scripted and overly promotional.

The reaction came after Raina had promised a “no filter” return and said the show would remain “same to same” despite its move to Netflix alongside YouTube. He had said both platforms would carry the episode on the same day and with the same runtime, with the only difference being that Netflix would have no advertisements and no comment section.

A section of viewers was sharply critical of the opening episode. One viewer said Raina’s comedy and dark humour appeared to have been left behind in season 1 and argued that the new episode showed he could not make people laugh without swearing. Another viewer listed complaints such as “No comedy”, “Unnecessary claps”, “Unnecessary laughs”, and said the episode promoted Alia’s film Alpha repeatedly.

Some viewers, however, said a few jokes still worked. One post said Raina was back and pointed to his jibes at Alia Bhatt’s Jigra and her Cannes appearance, including the line, “Here all cameras will be on you.” A separate reaction picked USA President Donald Trump parody as the standout moment and called the show “purely unhinged”.
