Hero hai, you can't say anything: Ssunita Ahuja on Govinda's extra-marital affairs
On Lock Upp 2, Ssunita Ahuja spoke to Shreya Kalra about Govinda's alleged extra-marital affairs and said she chooses not to dwell on them. Her remarks add to her earlier public comments on their marriage, while Govinda has denied the allegations as a conspiracy.

During a recent episode of the reality show Lock Upp 2, contestant Ssunita Ahuja addressed her husband Govinda’s alleged extra-marital affairs, casually indicating that she really didn't have a say in it. She explained the issue saying, "Hero hain toh you can't say anything." (He is a hero, so you can't say anything).
Speaking with co-contestant Shreya Kalra, Ssunita revealed that these challenges have been present since the beginning of their marriage. However, she emphasised that she now chooses not to dwell on the infidelity, highlighting that overthinking the issue at this stage in her life would only worsen her health and impact her diabetes.
During the conversation, Ssunita referred to infidelity as something that had been there from the beginning. She said, "Hua toh abhi kya kar sakte hain... shuru se hi hua hain na lekin? Hero hain toh you can't say anything. Iss umar mein abhi sochunga toh diabetes aur badhega. Jaise chal raha hain chalne do (If it happened, what can I do now? It has been there since the beginning, right? He is a hero, so you can't say anything. If I think about these things now, my diabetes will increase. Let things continue as they are)."
When Shreya asked her, "Don't you feel sad?" Ssunita replied, "It's fine. I live for my kids."
On being asked whether she thinks Govinda still continues to have affairs, Ssunita said, "Can you stop someone? Shall I sit in front of him 24 hours a day? The other person would get irritated too. I don't even think about it." She also said, "We have got two houses. Many people come to see him at his house. I need privacy in my own home."
Ssunita reiterated her past stance that she wouldn’t want a husband like Govinda, even while praising his dedication as a son and brother. She emphasised that while she enjoys parties, dinners, and vacations, he became so consumed by providing for his family that he never truly enjoyed life, adding that "He is 60 but has never lived for himself."
She further added, "I always say that I want a son like Govinda, not a husband." However, she dismissed any idea of regret or parting ways now, concluding that after 40 years together, even considering a separation "would be a crime."
On different occasions over the past year, Ssunita has accused Govinda of having an extra-marital affair. Govinda recently responded to the claims and described them as part of a "conspiracy" against him. Speaking to ANI, he said he had chosen to respond because remaining silent could make him appear "weak" and add to what he called a "problematic" image being formed about him.
Govinda said, "What I've been observing lately is that sometimes, when we don't speak, we either appear weak or it seems like we are simply the problem. So today, I'm responding. I was told that people in my family might be unknowingly involved, and they won't realise they are being used in the initial stages of a big conspiracy."
Govinda and Ssunita have been married since 1987 and are parents to Tina and Yashvardhan. While Tina made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with Second Hand Husband, Yashvardhan is preparing for his acting debut.
Ssunita is joined by the likes of Ram Kapoor, Harshad Chopra, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Shivangi Joshi, Shreya Kalra and Sufi Motiwala among others. Lock Upp 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
