Paer pe girke: Ssunita Ahuja reveals how Kashmera Shah mended family feud
After years of estrangement, actor Govinda's wife Ssunita Ahuja revealed that Kashmera Shah apologised with tears during their emotional reunion, bringing the family's 14-year feud to an end.

Months after ending their long-standing family feud, Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja has opened up about what led to her emotional reconciliation with nephew Krushna Abhishek and his wife, Kashmera Shah. Recalling the moment, Sunita revealed that it was Kashmera who took the first step towards mending their relationship by apologising for the past.
During a conversation with fellow contestants Madhuri Grover and Akanksha Chaudhary on Netflix's Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Sunita reflected on the reunion, which took place when she appeared on Laughter Chefs earlier this year.
"Laughter Chefs pe main gayi na, toh Krushna aur mera patch up hua 14-15 saal baad. Maine uske bacche ko bhi nahi dekhe thhe, woh 9 saal ke ho gaye. Jab ki maine uss ko paal-pos ke bada kiya. But Kashmera is a sweet girl. Woh mere pairon par girkar ro-ro kar maafi maangne lagi. Main bhi rone lagi. After 14 years, I was seeing them. Kashmera was at my feet and said, 'Sorry, mere se galti ho gayi,'" Sunita shared.
(When I went to Laughter Chefs, Krushna and I reconciled after 14-15 years. I hadn't even met his children, who are now nine years old, even though I helped raise him. Kashmera fell at my feet, cried and apologised. I also broke down. After 14 years, I was seeing them again. She admitted it was her mistake and said sorry).
About the family feud
The feud between Krushna Abhishek and Govinda dates back over a decade and reportedly began after the actor took offence to jokes Krushna made about him on television. The tensions deepened when Sunita Ahuja was said to have been upset over an old tweet by Kashmera Shah about "people who dance for money", believing it was aimed at Govinda.
Over the years, the strained relationship played out in public, with both families making several remarks about each other. Krushna had once claimed that Govinda did not visit his children when they were in hospital, while Govinda dismissed him as dishonest. In 2024, Sunita also revealed that she avoided appearing on The Kapil Sharma Show because Krushna was part of it.
The long-running family rift finally came to an end earlier this year when Sunita appeared on Laughter Chefs, where she shared an emotional reunion with Krushna and Kashmera. The reconciliation came months after Krushna and Kashmera visited Govinda in hospital following the actor's accidental gunshot injury, signalling that the family had finally put their differences behind them.
