Sethupathi started hosting Bigg Boss Tamil from its eighth season onwards. Before him, actor Kamal Haasan was the host from the first season through the seventh.
Television actor Divya Ganesan was crowned the winner of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9, hosted by Sethupathi. The cash prize for Bigg Boss Tamil 9 winner was Rs 50 lakh. Gana Vinoth took home the cash box worth Rs 18 lakh. Second and third runners-up are Vikram and Aurora Sinclair.
On the work front, Sethupathi was last seen in the January 2026 release, Gandhi Talks. The silent film also featured Aditi Rao Hydari and Arvind Swami in key roles.
