Why are Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola separating?
Akanksha confirmed their divorce during the premiere episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. She revealed that the couple had chosen to keep their separation private for nearly a year.
"Me and Gaurav are getting a divorce. We have been living separately for the last one year and it's not been public," she said on the show. She also clarified that there is no hostility between them, adding that they continue to speak to each other despite deciding to end their marriage.
In a later episode, Akanksha became emotional while explaining that the marriage ended because they wanted different things from life. She shared that Gaurav wished to have children, while she had long realised that motherhood was not part of the future she envisioned for herself. According to Akanksha, their differing life goals eventually made them realise they were not compatible as life partners, despite continuing to care for one another.
