Locals carry pregnant woman on wooden door through chest-deep water amid flood

Amid monsoon flooding in Palghar, Maharashtra, an ambulance was unable to reach a pregnant woman in labour because roads were submerged. Local residents and social workers removed a wooden door from a nearby house to create a makeshift stretcher. They placed the woman on the door and carried her through chest-deep floodwaters to reach Saphal Rural Hospital. Following this rescue, the woman safely delivered a healthy baby boy at the hospital.
