Government job changed everything: Bihar man accuses wife of abandoning family
A man from Bihar's Hajipur has accused his wife, a BPSC-appointed teacher, of leaving him and their son after getting a government job. The complaint also alleges a separate relationship and says police have not yet issued an official statement.

A man from Bihar's Hajipur has accused his wife, a BPSC-appointed teacher, of leaving him and their 10-year-old son after securing a government job. The man claimed he sold his ancestral land to fund her education, but she later started living separately and allegedly developed a relationship with another teacher.
According to the complaint, the couple – Aman Kumar and Gunjan Kumari – got married in 2013 and later had a son, Aarush Arya, who is now 10 years old. He claimed that Gunjan was only an intermediate pass at the time of marriage and aspired to become a teacher. Despite financial difficulties, he allegedly continued supporting her studies by working as a labourer and even sold one-and-a-half kattha of his ancestral land in 2022 to fund her education.
Gunjan later completed graduation, B.Ed and prepared for the BPSC teacher recruitment examination. She was selected as a teacher for Classes 6 to 8 in the TRE-02 recruitment process and was posted at a school in Bidupur block after completing training in Supaul district’s Triveniganj.
Aman alleged that during the training period, Gunjan grew close to her college friend Prem Prakash Jaywal, who had also secured a teaching job. He claimed the two remained in contact and frequently met during training.
He further added that in January 2025, Gunjan sent their son back to him on the pretext of going on a trip to Darjeeling with fellow teachers. However, he later came to know that the other teachers had not gone on the trip, strengthening his suspicions.
According to Aman, his wife has been living separately for nearly a year and has also filed false cases against him. He alleged that on May 23, he reached Gunjan’s rented accommodation in Hajipur’s Lichchavi Nagar area and allegedly found her with Prem Prakash in an objectionable situation, after which he informed Dial 112 police.
The couple’s son also reportedly accused his mother of forcing him to refer to another man as “uncle” and claimed he no longer wished to stay with her. Police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the allegations.
