A speeding dumper allegedly rammed into a bike in Gujarat's Surat , killing a 22-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter on the spot in the Bhestan area.

The victim, Rukshana Imran Sayyed, had visited her parental home with her daughters for Muharram. She was returning to her in-laws' house on a bike with her brother and two daughters when the out-of-control dumper allegedly struck the vehicle on the Bhestan bridge.

The impact threw the family onto the road, and Rukshana and her three-year-old daughter, Zainab, were crushed under the dumper's wheels, dying instantly. Her brother and four-year-old daughter, Haika, survived the crash.

The incident plunged the family into grief. Outside the Civil Hospital post-mortem room, relatives broke down in tears. Rukshana's husband, Imran Sayyed, a cloth trader, said the family had suffered another devastating loss within a year, recalling that his brother's body had also been brought to the same mortuary last year.

According to local residents, the dumper driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was driving recklessly despite heavy traffic on the bridge. The claims have not yet been officially confirmed by the police.

Bhestan police reached the spot soon after the accident, registered a case, detained the dumper driver, and launched further legal proceedings.

The tragedy triggered public outrage, with residents demanding strict punishment for the driver and stronger enforcement against heavy vehicles operating inside Surat city. Locals also urged authorities to crack down on reckless and allegedly intoxicated drivers to prevent similar tragedies.
