A 17-year-old girl died shortly after receiving a routine tetanus and diphtheria (TD) vaccine at a vaccination camp in Nashik, Maharashtra. According to the Nashik Municipal Corporation, the teenager felt dizzy and collapsed on her way home. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The exact cause of her death is yet to be established. Police have completed an inquest and postmortem examination, and the vaccine sample has been sent for laboratory analysis. Health officials stated that the same vaccine stock had been used extensively, with around 120 people, including pregnant women and children, receiving doses without reporting any adverse effects. The authorities have appealed for calm, urging the public to avoid speculation until all medical, forensic, and scientific reports are complete.
