The Akal Takht has issued a directive to Sikh legislators and ministers in Punjab, demanding amendments to the recently passed anti-sacrilege legislation within one month. The top Sikh body stated that the law, passed on 29 April, was enacted without proper consultation with the Akal Takht or other Panthic bodies. Consequently, Sikh ministers and legislators appeared before the body, while non-Sikh legislators were directed to submit written explanations. The legislators agreed to revise the legislation.
