Mentioned Ram Mandir 42 times in 2 years but no visit: Kejriwal targets Amit Shah
Arvind Kejriwal questioned Amit Shah over not visiting the Ayodhya Ram Temple despite repeatedly referring to it in speeches. He linked the issue to the temple donation theft case and accused the BJP of using religious sentiment for political gain.

Amid the ongoing probe into the Ayodhya Ram Mandir theft case, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday targeted Amit Shah, claiming that the Union Home Minister mentioned the temple over 42 times in speeches and interviews but did not visit the shrine even once since its consecration in 2024.
In a post on X, Kejriwal said, "Two-and-a-half years have passed since the consecration of the Shri Ram Temple, a total of 891 days. In these two-and-a-half years, Home Minister Amit Shah has not visited the Ram Temple even once."
He claimed that he had checked public records and media reports and alleged that Shah had referred to the Ram Temple more than 42 times in speeches and interviews.
“He has time to seek votes in the name of Ram, but no time to visit the temple,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal also questioned Shah directly, asking why he had not visited Ayodhya and whether he considered Lord Ram as God.
“My questions to Amit Shah are: Why have you not visited the Ram Temple? Do you not feel like visiting the Ram Temple? Do you not need Lord Ram’s blessings? Do you not consider Ram as God?” he said.
The AAP leader urged Shah to visit the temple and said devotees would expect political leaders associated with the Ram Temple movement to seek blessings at the shrine.
At a press conference today, the former Chief Minister alleged that the current governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh would not ensure punishment for those accused in the temple donation theft case.
“If you want the donation thieves to be punished, then the government must be changed. The present Central government and the present State government cannot ensure punishment,” Kejriwal said.
He claimed that devotees seeking action in the matter should vote for a change in government.
Kejriwal further accused BJP leaders of using religious sentiments for political gains.
“Those who use Lord Ram’s name should also show respect to him. Lord Ram has given them everything. He helped them form governments in 21 states and at the Centre. They should at least go and thank God,” he said.
He alleged that the BJP had used Sanatan only for political power and money, adding that more details in the controversy would emerge.
